In a shocking disclosure, Kapit MP Alexander Nanta Linggi said he had received many complaints that consignments of goods meant for communities in the interior were left at the nearest town. He said some agents, appointed by the domestic trade, cooperatives and consumerism ministry, despite being paid to do so, are not sending the goods to the designated sites in the interior of the state. "These are unscrupulous agents. If they have to send goods to faraway places, like in the upper reaches of the Rajang River, they are expected to do it. "Instead, they (agents) deliver the goods to the nearest town but their claims for payment are based on the final destination. "This is not right as people in the rural areas are being denied the benefit of the government's assistance," he said. He added that a few agents had been appointed in Song and Kapit and were monitored by the National Price Council secretariat. He said the initiative was part of the government's efforts to improve the distribution of essential goods to targeted beneficiaries of the government's subsidy scheme. "What these unscrupulous people are doing is bad for everybody. What these agents are doing is tantamount to sabotaging the government's noble effort," he said. 'Be sensitive' He said any withdrawal of fuel subsidies will burden the people because it will invariably lead to higher boat fares. "Express boats are still the main mode of transport in Kapit and many other towns. "The poor and the low-income group must not be made to suffer more than necessary. They still need government assistance to ensure that their livelihood is not unduly affected by the rising cost," he said. Linggi said the government must be sensitive and know what subsidies to abolish and what to continue. He was referring to the recent moves by the government to withdraw wide-ranging subisidies which have affected the public. Several groups have urged the government to retain subsidies on food and fuel and instead abolish aid to Independent Power Producers and AP (approved permit) holders. | CERITA EYKA: Gotong Royong <b>di Linggi</b> Posted: 02 Apr 2011 08:03 AM PDT Assalamualaikumm... sabtu malam ahad tu boleh pulak mata tak mengantok...keluar lepaklepak jap,pastu balik rumah,lepak lagi depan umah...da masuk umah saya dengan fara still tak boleh tidur,so kemaskemas umah dulu baru baringbaring...dah baring pun mata tak boleh tutup gak...fara boleh online lagi sampai pukul 4,saya boleh gayut sampai pukul 4..dah pukul 4 lebih sikit baru masingmasing boleh tidur...henpon dah set dah pukul 6.30..tapi bila tiba mase alarm dah berbunyi apa lagi,masingmasing meraba cari henpon terus stop alarm and continue tidur ! what ? continue tidur??? YES ! kami continue tidur..dah pukul 7.10 leyha bangun kejutkan kiteorang,apa lagi berterabur masing2 pergi bilik air..mane yang tak masuk bilik air kena cuci muka and gosok gigi kat sinki..kawan kat bilik air dah keluar baru boleh mandi..sumpah kelang kabut masingmasing..haha...  dah 7.30 pagi baru gerak pergi poli..kelangkabut masingmasing jalan..nasib baik ada kawan nak tunggu..and boyfrend dia cakap kat kitaorang suruh tunggu kat guard jek...nanti bus da kuar tahan bus poli and naek la...kitaorang dah lambat,berpecah dengan classmate yang lain..so gotong royong pun lainlain tempat la..kiteorang gotong royong dengan akak-akak kelas tamadun...tak apa lah bukan selalu jadi macam ni sampai jek linggi kitaorang dipecahkan dua group...group laki kena pergi tempat lain.kitaorang yang perempuan kena kemaskemas kat kampung barisan...ok la aktiviti ni..fun jugak la..pacik pacik kat kampung tu pun ramah,ustaz yang kitaorang sangka garang,ruparupa nya sporting la jugak..boleh gelakgelak dengan kitaorang...saya,fara,leyha,jet and fiza kena kemas kat lorong satu..dapat la kitaorang kemas and bersihbersih kan sikit kawasan lorong tu...siap kemas kat kampung tu,kitaorang semua satu bus kena pergi ke balai raya dekat linggi untuk majlis penutup..lepas majlis penutup ada makanmakan,tapi kitaorang tak makan,terus naik bus..penat..saya naik bus terus melelapkan mata...best la jugak...sampai poli lebih kurang kol 2 lebih... time ni pun sempat berposing before kena kemaskemas... haaa..nampak tak saya rajin..saya memang rajin..weeee ~ ! ni leyha yang suka sangat berposing...use camera dia la.. yang pakai topi tu la ustaz din..ingat dia garang tau,sebenarnya ta garang pun..kelakar la gak..tapi ade mase dia serius lorx.. pas dah kemas,kiteorang kena pergi balai raya untuk majlis penutup :) ~END~ Jom Like Full Feed Generated by Get Full RSS, sponsored by USA Best Price. |
